Inception Launches Immersive VR City Guide with Time Out Tel Aviv

The creator of high quality VR content partners with Time Out Tel Aviv to present a VR experience, sponsored by Toyota and InterContinental

Tel Aviv, Israel — January, 2017 — Inception, the destination of choice for original and high quality immersive virtual reality content, has launched the first in a series of insider VR guides with Time Out Tel Aviv. The interactive experience, sponsored by Toyota and Intercontinental Hotel Group, is designed to give viewers a beautiful and fun local insight into Tel Aviv.

When entering the VR experience viewers are taken into an interactive map through which they can select from a series of shorts, automatically transporting them to new locations and new guides throughout the city. Users can even select a specific guide they wish to tour with or the type of attraction they’re searching for – restaurant, nightlife, etc. The channel already contains inside guides to some of the cities hottest locations, such as alternative bar Kuli Alma and the unique Japanese spa Yoko Kithara.

The interactive map incorporates beautiful CGI and 3D stylized visuals, which produces an entirely refined viewership quality. Moreover, the way in which Inception creates the virtual reality content allows viewers to actually feel like they are at Tel Aviv’s hot spots. Every feature is conceptualized, designed and filmed with VR in mind rather than using simplistic 360° video or TV style formats and imports them into virtual reality.

“The Tel Aviv Time Out VR City Guide is just about the coolest way to enjoy Tel Aviv’s best locations to get to know the city,” said Benny Arbel, Co-founder & CEO of Inception. “Through what other medium could you actually jump into a map and receive a fully immersive introduction to the city? Our partnership with Time Out Tel Aviv is the perfect match to make this city guide truly on point and well informed.”

“We are happy to present our users with another exciting way to explore Tel Aviv and help them make the most of the city”, said Yuval Sigler, Editor-In-Chief and Publisher of Time Out Tel Aviv. “Discovering the trendiest venues and most inspiring people in the city has always been a crucial part of our mission statement – now we can do it in one of the most innovative ways, without missing an angle.”

Users can access individual clips on the Time Out Israel Facebook pages. The full interactive Tel Aviv experience is available in Inception’s app, which is available on the Oculus Rift, Samsung Gear, Android, iOS and Daydream, with apps for HTC Vive and Playstation coming soon. In addition to Time Out Tel Aviv, Inception already has a wide array of original and partnered entertainment content, from music, to arts, to Independent films, all available on the app.
